  • After a successful doctoral course, Jente Bontinck's appointment expires on 14 January. We wish her much future happiness on a personal and professional level!
Fien Allemeersch - PhD scholarship (100%)

Hello, my name is Fien. I am 24 and come from West Flanders. In my spare time, after 17 years you can still find me twice a week on the taekwondomat. I also enjoy going out for a drink or a meal with friends. I am looking forward to spending the next four years studying speech therapy!

Robbe Capelleman - PhD Scholarship (100%)

My name is Robbe Capelleman, 23 years old and a graduate within Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy (majoring in MSS) at Ghent University since June 2023. After six months in the field as an independent physiotherapist, where I mainly worked with a diversity of athletes, it is time to return to the old nest, albeit in a different position. Since 2 January, I started as a PhD student under the supervision of prof. Witvrouw and dr. Wezenbeek. Here, I will focus on research focusing on the use of virtual reality during return-to-sport screening after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
The interest in lower limb sports injuries can be traced back to my sports background in football, to which I still spend a considerable amount of my free time. As can be seen, I enjoy socialising both on and off the job, so I hope to meet you all soon!

Emile Cloet - Joint PhD KUL (100%)

Hello everyone, my name is Emile. I am a Kortrijkzaan who recently moved to Ghent (another West Flemish in Ghent). After graduating as a physiotherapist, I first worked in practice for a short period, but have now made the switch to academia with a joint PhD between KULeuven and Ghent University.
In my spare time, I like to be active. I play tennis, football and occasionally try to go cycling. I also like to sit on a terrace on a sunny day. I am looking forward to getting to know you better!
Greetings Emile

Tara Mouton - Joint PhD KUL (100%)

I obtained my degree, Master in Speech Therapy and Audiological Sciences (majoring in speech therapy), in July 2023.
In my spare time, I really enjoy singing and taking long walks with my dog. I also enjoy going out with my friends and exploring the world.
I am really looking forward to it, see you soon!
